Twenty-nine ski lifts operate along the slopes of Breckenridge Ski Area, covering a vertical rise of almost 3,400 feet and more than 2,350 acres of skiable terrain; runs down the mountain range in difficulty from beginner to expert. At the base of the slopes is a lovely resort town with a multitude of shops, restaurants, spas and overnight lodgings catering to visitors. During the summer, activities in the town and on the mountain range from thrilling mountain biking down steep trails to scenic chairlift rides to 27 holes of challenging golf at the Breckenridge Golf Club. Set deep in the Rocky Mountains, the resort is approximately a two-hour drive west of Denver, south of Dillon Reservoir.
